A UM student is accused of attacking more than one girl on campus.

Sources told CBS4 News that 27-year-old Wascar Payano fought in the war in Iraq and even received a military scholarship; they also confirmed Payano has been arrested, accused of battery and imprisoning a girl against her will in his off-campus apartment in Coral Gables January 22.

This man did not only violate this girl in the apartment but other girls state that he entered their room at night. They feel violated, UNSAFE. Who can blame them, some guys going around campus, getting into your rooms and no ones catching this guy?! Payano was banned from the freshman dorms at UM after he sneaked into a girls dorm room at 4:30 a.m. last September. She was sleeping and he tried to crawl into her bed. She woke up when she felt the covers being pulled off of her, she got scared, and he went back and sneaked out. They changed the locks, but does that make it any safer. He got in once already.

Payano has not been charged in any other case, but the most recent one involving a girl at his condo.

I don’t understand why they haven’t caught this guy already.It’s sad to hear stories like this. Hopefully now more people will know about it, and the girls will be more aware of their surroundings. Luckily, he hasn’t done worse up till now. What I don’t understand is, if this has happened in the past, why charges aren’t being filed up until now? Women need to stand up and talk when things happen to them. Especially with someone like this, he can only end up hurting someone more in the end.
