Carrie Underwood engaged to NHL player Mike Fisher

Congrats are in order

Carrie Underwood is engaged to Ottawa Senators hockey player Mike Fisher, her publicist said Monday. There is no wedding date in the works as of yet. Carrie Underwood has been dating Mike Fisher for about a year. They said last Christmas they asked her what she was doing, but she wasn’t sure, saying they were taking it one day at a time. She did thank him in her latest album referring to him has Number 12, stating “Thank you (No.) 12 (referring to his jersey number.) You are the most amazing addition to my life! You are such a wonderful person and have had such an amazing hand in the building of this album and in the growth of me as a person. I love you so much! You make my life better in every way!”

My thoughts:

I didn’t even know Carrie Underwood was dating someone, she sure did keep that on the hush hush. Good for her though, and CONGRATS! I truly hope that this is one of those rare marriages in Hollywood that end up working. I think they should be engaged for at least a year. I know they have been dating for about a year but I’m sure they haven’t spent all that time together like us normal folks. She was doing her stuff, he was out to away games, I think this calls for a little more time before we get married kind of love. That’s just my opinion though. I couldn’t even find a picture of them together, I did find one but then when you clicked on it, it went to another picture, the one you see above. Oh well, hopefully now, we’ll start seeing more pictures of them together. At least one ;)

Congrats Carrie and Mike, I hope your lives are blessed and filled with lots and lots of happiness and love.

RIP Brittany

It’s a sad day when you hear about anyone dieing, even if you didn’t know that person on a personal level. Brittany Murphy died of cardiac arrest yesterday morning. She was only 32 years old. Investigations are still under way but the doctors say it looks like natural causes. She leaves a husband, and family and friends behind.

If you want to read the full story go to yahoo.com

My thoughts:

My prayers go out to Brittany’s family and friends who lost a wonderful person in their lives. It’s sad that she passed away at such a young age, and to have cardiac arrest at such a young age is not heard of often, but can happen. Stories like these are the ones that make you sit back and really think to yourself, have I told everyone I care about that I love them today, have I done the things I want to do before I die? Tomorrow is never promised, we live each day as it comes, thinking that it’s a duty to live your life, when in fact its a privilege to have this life.

Today I want to thank everyone who has touched my life in a positive way, and for those who touched my life in a negative way, I also want to thank you, because with out those obstacles in life, I wouldn’t be me! So thank you for showing me how I can be a better person. Thank you to my family and my friends who I can always count on. Thank you to my boyfriend for just being my best friend, the person I can come home to and talk to, the person who just loves me for me. Today I am grateful for life and you should be too.

RIP Brittany Murphy….

Birthday, Holiday’s and more…

Filed under: Every Day Thoughts,Kristin Nicole's Thoughts,Random Thoughts — Wrote by Kristin on Friday, December 18th, 2009 @ 9:36 am

So this Sunday is my Birthday, another year older…

What sign are you?

Yes I’m a Sagittarius, one of the best signs don’t you think? ;)
This month has been busy, busy, getting things done at work, finishing up finals and of course preparing for my fabulous birthday party. Okay, maybe not so fabulous but I told my boyfriend where I wanted to go and I told him to take care of it for me. I don’t usually do this though, usually I try to stay low key and not do much because my birthday is so close to Christmas people tend to have plans or be broke, you know the usual.

But this year….

I decided to go out with all my friends. I’m not even sure who’s going because I haven’t planned or talked to anyone, but I hope that most if not all can make it out to celebrate my birthday with me.

On to other things…

Not only is it my birthday but Christmas is around the corner. I know many of you wait until the last minute to buy Christmas gifts and wrap. Well I am not one of those people, I’m one of those people you hate because you don’t get how I can be completely be done in November and have my gifts wrapped by the second week of December. Well this is one of those things I hate to procrastinate on, only because I refuse to step into the mall or the stores in December. It’s more like I refuse to wait in that long line to buy anything. So I’m 100% ready for the Holiday’s!

So now I’m just getting ready for my Birthday! and….Get ready for the count down… 5 DAYS until Christmas Eve (Noche Buena) & 6 DAYS until Christmas Day!

ebay – Great Deals – Perhaps a few scams???

Filed under: Beauty,Every Day Thoughts,Kristin Nicole's Thoughts — Wrote by Kristin on Thursday, December 17th, 2009 @ 10:58 am

Oh ebay…

I just recently started using ebay to get a few good deals. There are some things you can really get great deals on. My flaw — buying purses. I love purses! I have to control myself because some of the deals are too good to be true. Now that’s just it, do you think some of these can be fakes? I hate to buy one thinking its real and then only to find out it’s fake.

Bidding wars:

Bidding is tough sometimes you don’t get what you really want. Sometimes I think it’s a little rigged though. For example, I bid on a clutch that no one had bidded on yet with one minute to go and as soon as I confirmed my bid I got out bidded…hmmm scam? Or coincidence? It’s hard to say but I was upset I didn’t get that cute purse.

What are your thoughts on ebay? Have you ever had any problems with products purchased from here?

Christmas Wish…

Filed under: Every Day Thoughts,Holidays,Kristin Nicole's Thoughts,Random Thoughts — Wrote by Kristin on Tuesday, December 15th, 2009 @ 11:32 am

What’s your Christmas wish this year?

Christmas is around the corner, and with each passing day we only get closer to the most beautiful Holiday around. Christmas! This year though, it seems like people don’t have the Christmas spirit, some aren’t decorating like they used to, the malls aren’t as packed and the weather, well if you live in Miami, you can go to the beach. Enough said! In other places around the world they do have their white Christmas, but is it just as festive this year as the past?

What did you ask Santa?

This year I haven’t really asked for anything specific, I honestly just want to be with the ones I love, lots of food, lights and a tree along with some music. Every year passes and we don’t realize that we get older, each year is another blessing. This year however, many people aren’t so grateful, a lot don’t have jobs, some for almost a year maybe even more, some people are just plain old scrooges. And like every year, there are children who’s parents can’t afford gifts, their sick children and the poor, and some of us give back by helping out at charities or donating presents to places like Toys For Tots, or donating money.
Donate today to any of the following:

toysfortots.org
secretsanta.org
stjude.org
militaryworkingdogs.com
makeawishfoundation.com

What is your favorite place to donate to during the holiday season? Please let us know so I can share with others and help spread the joy to the less unfortunate.

Happy Holidays!

Middle School kids treated after popping pills (Triple C)

Filed under: Daily News,Every Day Thoughts,Kristin Nicole's Thoughts,Random Thoughts — Wrote by Kristin on Thursday, December 10th, 2009 @ 9:22 am

4 students were removed from Pioneer Middle School after overdosing on over the counter medication. Two eight graders and one seventh grader were sent to the hospital and the other 7th grader was sent home. Two of the students might have stolen the over the counter medicine from a drug store (this is still under investigation) they may be charged for this. One of the other students is said to get the medicine from his home. They take these drugs to get a high.

BSO isn’t telling us what drug they actually took. “The side effects they have to worry about are the cardiac side effect, they can go into cardiac arrest,” Dr. Peter Antevy of Memorial Regional Hospital told CBS 4′s Carey Codd. “They can have a seizure. It slows down their breathing. All things that might land them in a hospital and could kill them.”

My thoughts:

First off, I never thought of ever taking a cold medicine to get high, this is ridiculous, kids are just trying anything now a days. Second I never really new the effects a cold medicine can actually have on a person.

I think BSO should release the name of the cold medicine, I think other parents have the right to know what medicine it is exactly that can cause this to their children. Apparently this drug is also called Triple C, a drug most teens try taking to get high.

Triple C is a drug slang term which refers to cough medicine, derived from Coricidin Cough and Cold – a common over-the-counter antihistamine medication. This medication, like other cough syrup products, can be abused like an illicit drug by taking extremely large doses to get high. The “high” is caused by intake of a large amount of dextromethorphan (DXM), a common active ingredient found in many cough medications. This sort of abuse of “Triple C” can be dangerous. (You can find this information and more at dxmstories.com

Parents need to talk to their children more and explain that even an over the counter medicine can be deadly.

Tamarac man arrested in sex assault on 91-year-old

Filed under: Daily News,Every Day Thoughts,Kristin Nicole's Thoughts,Random Thoughts — Wrote by Kristin on Thursday, December 10th, 2009 @ 8:51 am

The story:

A man accused last month was arrested by Broward Sheriff’s Office Wednesday. He was accused of sexually assaulting a 91 year old woman. The man in question… Chad Weiner, 38. He entered the woman’s apartment on November 19th, the woman was heading to the bathroom when he attacked her, tied her up and sexually assaulted her. (BSO said).

The woman told detectives that she had lost her wallet a few weeks before the attack, and had her spare key to her house inside her wallet. The night of the attack she received a strange phone call to her home. Only later detectives found it was Weiner who called her home.

Later DNA evidence and Fingerprints linked Mr. Weiner to the crime. Weiner is being held at the Broward County Main jail and is facing charges of burglary with battery, sexual battery and kidnapping.

My thoughts:

One… GROSS! Dude she’s 91 years old, what were you thinking? I take that back, he obviously wasn’t thinking!!! First thing the women should have done after loosing her wallet was change her locks. I understand though she’s 91 and perhaps didn’t think anything of it. Unfortunately this shows that if you ever lose your key, it’s best to change the locks. This man not only thought about this for weeks he went into action and was grateful enough to leave evidence behind for detectives to find. So thank you for that Mr. Weiner.

I’m glad they caught this guy, what he did was the unthinkable. To be that age, and have to go through such a thing, I couldn’t ever imagine.

Adam Lambert making up with ABC

Filed under: Every Day Thoughts,Kristin Nicole's Thoughts,Music, Shows, Events,Random Thoughts — Wrote by Kristin on Tuesday, December 8th, 2009 @ 7:51 am

ADAM

Adam & ABC

So for all those Adam Lambert Fans, this is it….Adam is getting a chance to perform on the ABC show the View. He will talk about how crazy this last year has been and what he’s learned. ABC is still being cautious, they will not film The View live, just to take precaution and not have any surprises.

Lets see….

Hopefully it will be a great show and he will prove to them he can tone it down a bit. So if you have tivo go to ABC on Thursday to watch Adam on the View. If you’re like me, we can only hope to catch it on the net.

Still talking about Adam Lambert

Filed under: Daily News,Every Day Thoughts,Kristin Nicole's Thoughts,Music, Shows, Events,Random Thoughts — Wrote by Kristin on Friday, December 4th, 2009 @ 7:56 am

Still talking

Okay so Adams show on the American Music Awards was a little raunchy, who cares. ABC says people still haven’t forgotten so he was asked NOT to do the Jimmy Kimmel show and the New Years Eve show in New York.

Get over it people

This is Adam, take him or leave him. Unfortunately I think it’s ridiculous to not allow him to do these shows, why not just ask him to take it down a notch. I understand that if you have children what he may be displaying on television isn’t appropriate, and ABC is a family network, however I don’t see a problem with just asking him to tune it down a bit. I don’t even think it was all that bad, but that’s just my opinion.

Don’t stop

Keep doing what you’re doing Adam, don’t stop who you are. But in a world of critics you may have to tune it down a bit for the reserved people in the world. Good luck and hope to see you on tv soon.

4 Police officers dead in Seattle, now so is the killer…

Filed under: Daily News,Every Day Thoughts,Kristin Nicole's Thoughts,Random Thoughts — Wrote by Kristin on Tuesday, December 1st, 2009 @ 9:59 am

The story:

Maurice Clemmons, 37, the man you see above, stepped into a coffee shop and shot and killed 4 police officers. One police officer was able to take a shot and hit Maurice, but he still got away. They are now looking for possibly 6-7 people who helped him hide from police. They believe one of them is his sister, who helped clean up the shot wound. Last night at 2:45am a Police officer pulled Clemmons over in a stolen car. When approaching the car, he heard noise behind him and he recognized Clemmons, he told him to put his hands where he can see them but Clemmons didn’t listen. The officer fired several rounds and took him into custody. He later died from the gunshot wound he had. They found Clemmons with one of the officers guns.

The officers who were Killed were Sgt. Mark Renninger, 39, and Officers Ronald Owens, 37, Tina Griswold, 40, and Greg Richards, 42. May they rest in peace.

This story goes on. This man was in Jail since he was 16 but was released early by Governor Mike Huckabee. He claims had he known this man was this distraught he would have not requested an early release. However, Clemmons was arrested again in 2000 and 2004. He was then again arrested earlier this year for assaulting a police officer and for raping a child. He claimed the world was coming to an end.

My thoughts:

This story saddens me. Four brave officers died because of one man, because we thought giving people a second chance sometimes works. However, after he violated his parole and got arrested, that should have been sufficient enough to prove that he hadn’t changed. This should have sent him back to jail for the remainder of his sentence. I don’t understand how the law can take someone out of jail so easily yet after he assaulted a police officer and raped a child he was still in the streets. This man should have been behind bars, then perhaps these four brave officers can be with us today, be with their families and loved ones. But today people mourn for the ones they lost, people ask why, and cry and plead that people like Clemmons don’t get a get out jail free card, because these are the chances we are making.
