The amazing story of a 94 year old women, finally getting her college diploma:

Wow I found this article on Yahoo.com, if this does not inspire a student to keep going for their dreams I do not know what will.

Read on….

It’s never too late to go back to college and get your college degree. I know you hear that a lot sometimes, but when you hear this story, you might just think I am right.

The story:

Hazel Soares is 94 years old and she was able to achieve what most of us do not or feel like we can not accomplish at our age.

Hazel Soares was one of 500 students to get their dipoma Saturday at Mills College.

“It’s taken me quite a long time because I’ve had a busy life,” said Soares. “I’m finally achieving it, and it makes me feel really good.” (yahoo.com)

Hazel Soares has six children and 40 grandchildren and great grandchildren. WOW I know, that is a lot of family, and with that she is the second oldest person in the world to graduate from college. Nola Ochs of Kansas was the oldest to graduate three years ago at the age of 95 and now topped that with a master’s degree in liberal studies from Fort Hays.

Hazel Soares said she always wanted to go to college but when she was younger the Great Depression was happening and only people who can afford college went. She never gave up on her dream though, and with all in all has managed to do just that. Dream and make it come true. Hazel Soares plans on working for the San Francisco museum after this. I say good for you Soares, GO FOR IT!

My thoughts:

This women amazes me in every sense of the word. Sometimes I sit and I complain that College is not for me, how hard it is, and how much sacrifice I have to make to continue working on my education. Why didn’t I finish when I was younger etc etc. You can not change time and you can not change the life you are in. If you want something go for it! Nothing in this world can stop you, if you do not let it. Hazel Soares is an inspiration to many, and I think she will continue to be an inspiration to the students that graduated with her. This just proves to so many of us that when you really put your mind to something, when you really dream about something you want, ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!

Whenever you feel like you can not do something, whenever you feel helpless or too old, think about this story and ask yourself, Is it really impossible? I think NOT!

Struggling mind

My mind struggles to think
I can feel every aspect in my mind trying to focus
but every time I close my eyes and try to think of nothing
I can’t!
It’s in constant motion,
constant thinking
negative thoughts, positive thoughts
but mostly just thoughts.

How can you get your mind to relax, to just not think of anything at all. Fully focus on nothing and let your body just relax.

Some say sleep is a form of relaxation.
Many people don’t remember their dreams, but I dream almost every night.
Mostly nonsense stuff that doesn’t even make sense.
When I wake up I feel exhausted sometimes, feeling like that dream had me running for miles.

My mind has control of me, my thoughts, my dreams my desires. How do you make it stop just for one second?
Just stop for one second so that I can breath with out feeling the pressure in my head.
Stop for one second so I can think straight.
When I read, I’m thinking
When I lie there, I’m thinking
When I dream, I’m thinking
It never just stops, it never just lets me relax, it never just lets me BE ME!

It’s like a fish in a bowl, swimming in circles for hours, for days until he takes his last breath. I sometimes feel like that, a routine, work, school, play, work, school, play. It never just stops, I never stop.

Dreams – What do they mean?!?

Dreams

I had a dream last night that I had to have surgery, it was so weird though. In my mind they had to take a tooth out, which I have always feared and had dreams about, teeth falling out etc. Last night however it was different…

My dream

Last nights dream I was in some type of hospital and this doctor kept prepping me for surgery. She said she had to take my bone marrow out. I didn’t want to have surgery so I kept trying to get away, she said I couldn’t get down from the table, if I touched the floor with my bare feet I would have to get prepped for surgery all over again. After trying to get away for a while, she finally got me on the table and I started falling asleep, when I woke up I felt fine, and the next thing I know I’m heading to this restaurant in New York that I went to with my boyfriend and a few friends, except it was on a beach. My boyfriend was in a wheel chair and I was walking as if nothing happened, I kept thinking to myself and wondering why he was in a wheel chair and I felt just fine. He asked if we can sit outside because inside was too loud, we headed outside and the restaurant was right by the beach, I looked up and the clouds were dark gray, and then I woke up.

Dream Dictionary:

Surgery
To dream that you or someone else is undergoing surgery, signifies the opening of the Self and/or the need for emotional healing. You need to “cut out” or eliminate something from your life. Alternatively, you are feeling the influence of some authority figure. A more literal interpretation of this dream may reflect your concerns about upcoming surgery or about your health.

I’m not sure if this is accurate, I personally don’t feel like I need to “cut out” or eliminate something from my life. But I’m not sure exactly what to think of this dream. All I know is that it was so clear to me this morning, and it stuck in my head which was awkward…

“The best thing about dreams is that fleeting moment, when you are between asleep and awake, when you don’t know the difference between reality and fantasy, when for just that one moment you feel with your entire soul that the dream is reality, and it really happened.”-Unknown
