Condo/Apartment Searching…For Rent

Have you tried Apartment searching? When I thought trying to buy was difficult trying to Rent is just as hard. Unless of course you have lots of money!

Apartment/Condo Searching…

So as of recently my boyfriend and I decide to rent. It’s a lot easier then buying at the moment and it gives us a chance to keep looking for something we truly love before we decide to buy a home. We’ve spoken to a hand full of Realtor’s. Realtor’s complain that the market is doing bad, that they aren’t making that much money, yet every time I turn the corner to talk to one about finding a place to rent, they send a few things my way, I tell them I didn’t like what they sent and they stop there with out returning an email or a phone call.

Postings that don’t exist

I contact a Realtor on a posting that is either on the MLX or Craigslist etc. Every time I have called about a Unit that I am interested in, miraculously it is already rented out. Explain to me one thing please? If that unit was just posted today how is it possible that it has already been rented out? I’m starting to believe that these realtor’s just post things that look really nice, so that potential renters can call asking to see the place, then when they do they tell them it’s rented out and maybe they can help them to find something similar to that unit. However, they talk the talk but they aren’t by any means walking the walk. Not one realtor has gotten back to me with potential places that I may want to rent out. Is it me, or do they really want the business?

If I was a Realtor?!?

If I worked in the industry, I would be on top of things. If a potential renter or buyer called me on a property they were interested in, and the place they were interested already had a contract or a renter, I would offer to help them more. I would look for locations and ask what they were looking for (inside the home). This way I can research this for them and try to have them as a client. I would also pick up my phone. I can’t tell you how many times I have called a Realtor who doesn’t pick up their phones or call me back. Most Realtor’s seem to want the full commission so if you call telling them you have a Realtor your chances are low. Now that I’m renting I call without a Realtor and it seems my chances are still low. What’s going on?

I still have hope

I still look every day and I’m hoping to find something by the new year. If my stars are aligned correctly then I’ll be having a house warming get together at my new place soon :) Wish me luck

I have a job
I have money to pay off my school in order to finish my AA.
I have a roof over my head,
I have food,
I have clothes,
I have love,
I have family
I have friends
I have a car
I have my health
I have a lot more then most, and today I thank God for all I HAVE!

Whatever may come, whatever may go, at the end of the day I HAVE LOVE, I HAVE LIFE!

House Hunting

My boyfriend and I have been looking for a house over a year now, yes OVER A YEAR! It’s tough out there because our budget is on the cusp of being in a better neighborhood, and we have to take into consideration the taxes. Even though the houses have dropped tremendously in the last year it’s still hard to find the “perfect” house. They all are old, so the rooms are tiny, with hardly no closet space (which for me is hard to accept). And they all need remodeling. In a sense I’m looking forward to the transformation from old to my HOME. But it’s a lot of money which is why we also can’t get something higher in price than we can afford. We also don’t want to be struggling from paycheck to paycheck, we want to be able to be financially okay. Be able to go out when we want to go eat sushi, buy those cute shoes in the window because today I DESERVE IT.

A persons dream only comes once, but a person who believes in a dream makes that dream come true.

Have house prices hit the bottom?

I read an article on CBS News about home prices reaching the bottom. This is a bit upsetting, I still believe that the prices are still a little high, although I know they have dropped tremendously. I have been looking with my boyfriend for a little over a year. But it’s still tough, they still want a lot of money for a small house that needs fixing, or a descent size house that still needs a lot of work.

I hope that this isn’t the bottom, bottom, because I really hope to find something this year. Keeping my fingers crossed that we will find something, for the right price, right area and the right time =)

Trying to buy a home…

So here’s the thing, my boyfriend and I have been trying to find a home since December, we started looking knowing it’s the time to buy and with all the houses we have searched and looked for we came up with one, we put in a bid and someone put in a bid higher than us, this discouraged us and we haven’t been looking that much until recently again and I can’t help but feel that we’ll never find the right home. Am I being too picky when I don’t think the neighborhood is up to par or the fact that there is wires hanging from the roof or the roof is too flat, the inside needs way too much work? Why can’t I find the perfect home for the perfect price? Impossible I am starting to believe.

So we wanted to see a house and our Realtor calls and he doesn’t have a Supra so you think the Realtor who is selling the place would want to show it to potential buyers? Wrong, she says she is too busy and to call her next week, thing is next week my Realtor will be out of town so hopefully she will show it to us without him being here, and then she goes to tell our Realtor that the place is in really bad condition, unlivable…what kind of Realtor is this. Let us decide that first!!! So frustrated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
