My Best Friend…

My Best Friend

We have known each other for way too long
You aren’t just my best friend
You are like a sister at all costs.

We have been through ups and downs
at one point we didn’t talk
life moved on
and then one day out of no where
you came back into my life
it was has if we never stopped talking
as if we had never been apart
that’s how you truly know this friendship will never part.

You mean the world to me
everything you do
I know if I need you
You’ll help me through

If you’re ever in a bind
I hope you know I’ll do the same
No matter what time or day
I’ll always be here
Just call out my name…

I know it sounds corny
but the saying is true
Friends for Ever
Just Me & YOU!

Dedicated to my best friend Grace – I have known her for over 15 years now and she is like a sister to me in so many ways. I was inspired to write this poem after she wrote me a sweet message on my facebook page. She just got married, and I was so lucky to have been chosen as her Maid of Honor…. It is truly a blessing when you find a true friend for life… Love you….

Get Your Own Friend

Get your own Friends

Get your own friends
why do you have to seek out mine?
are you not over it?
give up your pride…

Tell me a story
the one that fell apart
the one that left you
and died out your heart

Get your own friends
leave mine alone
is it not enough that it ended,
that you keep lurking around my door?

Time is of essence
we all have to move on
leave it alone now
leave it be
leave, leave, leave…

Get out of my mind
out my head
leaving was the best thing
if not I’d be dead

Get your own friends
just leave mine alone
find a new hobby
find a new friend
just stop trying to steal mine instead…

This was inspired by a dream a friend told me about. She stopped being friends with her child hood friend and she started hanging out with her friends and taking them from her, she just wanted to move on from their friendship, but every time she turned around, she was there. Hope you enjoyed the poem.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day 2011

Happy St. Patrick’s Day 2011

Saint Patrick’s Day is a religious holiday celebrated internationally on the 17th of March. It is named after Saint Patrick (c. AD 387–461), the most commonly recognized of the patron saints of Ireland. It originated as a Catholic holiday and became an official feast day in the early 17th century. It has gradually become more of a secular celebration of Irish culture. (via Wikipedia.org

Here is a fun poem for St. Patrick’s Day…. ENJOY

I’ll Wear a Shamrock

St. Patrick’s Day is with us,
The day when all that’s seen
To right and left and everywhere
Is green, green, green!

And Irish tunes they whistle
And Irish songs they sing,
To-day each Irish lad walks out
As proud as any king.

I’ll wear a four-leaf shamrock
In my coat, the glad day through,
For my father and mother are Irish
And I am Irish too!

Have a wonderful St. Patrick’s Day – Drink lots of Green Beer, but don’t drive home drunk, make sure to get a taxi or your luck will be lost….

Tomorrow’s your Big Day…

Tomorrow’s your Big Day…

Tomorrow’s your big day
The day you tie the knot,
The day you say I do,
And forever be his glue.

I see the way you look at him,
The smile in your eyes,
The way he looks at you,
The love just shines.

Tomorrow’s your big day
I’ll stand right by your side
I know your dad won’t be there
but he’s watching from above,
watching every step you take,
and sending you his love.

Tomorrow’s your big day,
The day you tie the knot,
The day you say I do,
and forever be true.

Tomorrow’s your big day,
A marriage made by two,
The day you fall in love again
and say I DO…

Dedicated to my best friend, my sister who I adore. I love you and I wish you nothing but the best filled with happiness and love. I love you.

Happy Valentine’s Day

Another year gone by, and another Valentine’s is here. Not everyone is blessed to be in a relationship. Valentine’s day is said to bring a lot of depression and suicide rates up. People need to realize that Valentine’s day is just a holiday invented by people to celebrate your love, but you shouldn’t just celebrate it one day out of the year, you should celebrate your love 365 days out of the year. Okay well not exactly celebrate since you can’t buy gifts and go out to dinner every single day of the year, but you can celebrate it by loving each other, respecting each other, making memories that will last a life time.

If you are couple go out, be romantic but don’t just do this special thing on Valentine’s day, go all out on a regular day, I think it would mean so much more than just because it’s Valentine’s Day. Don’t get me wrong, flowers and a gift is nice on Valentine’s day too…

For those who don’t have someone to celebrate Valentine’s day with, why not go out with a friend, have some drinks, watch a movie. If you feel sad don’t fret, there is always next year.

Happy Valentine’s All – hope you have a wonderful day!

Here’s a poem I found:

It’s More Than Saying I Love You

We give on this day candy and flowers,
But we never stop to say thank you for the many hours.
You have stood by my side and gave a smile,
As if to tell our hearts it’s been worth every mile.
No need to buy a teddy bear or even a card,
It’s pretty simple and not at all hard.
Just put your arms around me and hold me tight,
And say without words that in your heart all is right.
You may say I Love You throughout the year,
But on this day you need to make sure.
The words so sweet and straight from your heart,
That your life would be lonely without my part.
So put forth the effort and take the time,
Look me in the eye and say I’m glad you’re mine.

~Happy Valentine’s Day~

Dear Santa

Dear Santa

Dear Santa, I’m older
But, still believe in you
(At least, I believe in
The things you try, to do).

Maybe, I can’t ask for
A Tonka, or, a train.
(But, if you’d bring one of them
You know, I won’t complain).

But, what I really wish for
Is a special present
Love that can’t be “returned”
Once it has been sent.

Everybody needs a little
And some, need a lot
But, if you get a tiny bit
You still know what you got.

So Santa, drop a little
Under each Christmas tree
Then, all will get a present
From what it’s ‘posed to be.

And if there is no tree
For the alone, and poor
When you get, to their place
Just, drop, a little more.

What do you want for Christmas this year?
I hope everyone has a wonderful Holiday and a Happy New Year

November Rain – Dedication to Veteran’s Day

November Rain

Today it rains on my parade
Today the clouds come out to play
Today like any other day is November Rain.

I sit there by the window
waiting for the phone
waiting to hear about my husband
who is out there in the war…

I sit here in my room
coloring on the walls
wondering if my daddy
will be able to tuck me in at all…

I remember playing ball,
I remember our first dates,
I remember when we used to argue
I remember his face.
I wonder where he is,
And I wish that I was there
My older brother is my hero
I just couldn’t bare…

I sit here looking at the pictures
remembering my son grow up
I would have never imagined he would grow up to fight for us all.
My son is a hero he left that November day
He looked me in the eyes and said
Mama, everything will be okay…

I looked into his eyes, and told him I was proud
but deep down inside I wanted to hold him down.
I wanted to yell, please don’t go
Do yo know how dangerous it is out there?
Do you know some boys don’t come back home?
I kissed him on the cheek and gave him a great big hug
with tears in my eyes I said goodbye…

I put on my brave eyes and told him I loved him
That day it rained on my parade
That day the clouds came out to play
That day became November Rain.

Mama please don’t cry
but today is the day I go to war
today is the day I fight for our country
Please be brave, I’ll be alright but I have to do this
It’s only right.

My wife is waiting at home, I hold pictures of her at night,
My child is waiting with tears in her eyes, I wish I can hold her tight. My brothers and sisters I miss so much I wish I can see them now,
My mother is praying for me to come home,
I wish I can call her now.

I’ll never get that chance now,
I did what I needed to do
I fought for my country and died,
but I believed in the Red, White and Blue.

We stand strong,
We live strong,
It’s the way of a soldier.

Today it rains on my parade
Today the clouds come out to play
Today like any other day is November Rain.

~Dedicated to all the Veterans, all the Soldiers who have passed, and all the Soldiers who are still out there risking their lives for us each and every day~

Be strong ~ Inspired by Madison Schafer

Be Strong

When you feel like your world is falling apart
have faith and stand strong.
When you feel like it’s the end of the world
remember that there are people out there who are suffering more than you are right now.
If you are the one suffering and you don’t know what to do
remember to pray
remember to not hate what you can not control
remember that we all need love in our hearts to move forward
because if we give in to the hate,
if we give in to the sadness
we are only admitting defeat.
Stand strong
Be strong
Life is a journey
we all take the bad with the good
and we all wonder at one point in our lives
“why is this happening to me”?

Let love enter your heart
with love, the world has no end
with love we know no limits
with love we have support of the ones we care for
with love we smile
with love we cry
with love we know no boundaries
and yet we keep loving
we keep living
and we keep having the faith that in the end Everything will be alright.

My thoughts:

I have been thinking recently about how we all complain about things we aren’t happy about in life. Only you can change the actions that cause your life events and only you can change fate. My last two posts have been about this little girl who is only 20 months old fighting for her life due to a tumor in her brain that is cancerous. Her family I can only imagine is in shambles, wondering what is going to happen, not knowing if tomorrow will come and looking into the beautiful eyes of that baby girl (Madison Schafer). I think about how we complain about things in life, but if you stop just for one second to realize all the beautiful things you have in life you might realize that the bad stuff happening right now is actually not so bad. Realize that there are people out there like the Schafer family who is struggling way more than some people can ever imagine. Have faith and pray and remember that miracles do happen, positive thinking really does change outcomes and in the end remember the people you love, love them back because tomorrow is never promised. Tomorrow is not guaranteed, and we take so many things for granted, we take life for granted. Pray like there is no tomorrow, love like you have never loved before, and live life to your fullest. ~Live, Love, Laugh~

Today the Schafer family will learn about Madison’s condition and they will see what treatments they will need to give Madison for her recovery. My prayers are with them all.

When you were gone

Constant Thoughts - my thoughts are never ending

Random Thoughts:

Have you ever lost someone, a family member, a pet, a friend?

I have lost family and I have lost pets. The worst part about losing someone is feeling that sadness inside when you know nothing you can say or do can change this life event. Nothing you can do can change the way you feel and nothing you can say can change the pain.

Life is hard, and no matter what we do or say we can’t change fate.

Here is a poem written to the people/pets I’ve lost….a little bit of what I felt for each one….

When you were gone

When you left I stood in disbelief
When you left I just couldn’t breath
When you left you took a piece of me

When you were here I didn’t say I love you
When you were here I didn’t show you how I felt
When you were here I didn’t pay attention

When you were gone I said I loved you
When you were gone it was too late to show you
When you were gone I didn’t want to say goodbye

You are gone and I will always miss you
You are gone and I will always love you
You are gone and I will always mourn you

I’ve lost you and I don’t know how
I’ve lost you…

Memorial Weekend 2010

Memorial Weekend 2010

Memorial Day: Memorial Day is a United States federal holiday observed on the last Monday of May. Formerly known as Decoration Day, it commemorates U.S. men and women who died while in the military service. First enacted to honor Union soldiers of the American Civil War (it is celebrated near the day of reunification after the Civil War), it was expanded after World War I.

Any Plans?!?

Any plans set up for Memorial weekend? Any good ideas you want to share? Let me know, recipes and more, I would love to see them and share them with others.

In Miami people usually head to the beach, BBQ, eat and drink, which is pretty much any other weekend in MIAMI :)

My plans:

We have two parties to attend actually. My cousins boyfriends house in Ft. Lauderdale, with a pool, catered food, and drinks, what more can you ask for. That will start around 12pm and around 4pm we will be heading out to our friends house in Cutler Bay, where we will then continue to party in the pool, eat and drink some more, may not sound like all crazy fun to you, but you do not know the people we hang out with. I can not wait!!

Some people make a whole trip out of it, maybe perhaps to go up to the Keys for the whole weekend, or somewhere else to have some fun. This year, I’m staying in….except for Sunday of course, which is when we are celebrating Memorial Day.

Tell me all about your plans I would love to hear them!!!

MEMORIAL DAY – some people do not really realize what it meant, which I left a small description in the beginning. I found this poem that I would love to share with you all.

Memorial Day

As we stand here looking
At the flags upon these graves
Know these flags represent
A few of the true American brave

They fought for their Country
As man has through all of time
Except that these soldiers lying here
Fought for your country and mine

As we all are gathered here
To pay them our respect
Let’s pass this word to others
It’s what they would expect

I’m sure that they would do it
If it were me or you
To show we did not die in vein
But for the red, white and blue.

Let’s pass on to our children
And to those who never knew
What these soldiers died for
It’s the least we can do

Let’s not forget their families
Great pain they had to bear
Losing a son, father or husband
They need to know we still care

No matter which war was fought
On the day that they died
I stand here looking at these flags
Filled with American pride.

So as the bugler plays out Taps
With its sweet and eerie sound
Pray for these soldiers lying here
In this sacred, hallowed ground.

Take home with you a sense of pride
You were here Memorial Day.
Celebrating the way Americans should
On this solemnest of days.
